Here are some useful tips and Q&A.

Q: How do I connect to my home or public WiFi?

A: Look at the Settings Tab, click the globe icon WISP (Wireless Internet Service Provider), click new connection. Select the SSID (Name of your router) then enter password as normal.  For public open connections just select and submit

Q: There's a 'advanced' tab, when I click on it there's a root password?  What's my root password?

A: Your root password is the password you set up for your router.  By default we set all the 'default' passwords to "password".  Please change!

Q: How long does the router last on a USB Battery?

A: Our field test show, on a small 1500 mAh battery, it should last about 12hrs. We also had several connections and streamed videos to test power drain.  The VIPER draws very little power.

Q: What is the quality, reliability, and speed of the Open Sourse servers?

A: VPN Gate servers utilizes AES 256 and RSA 4096 bit encryption + SSL, VPN over DNS and NAT. Dozens of access servers located globally by volunteers. There are posted speed tests for each server.  However, doing our due diligence, we've taking it upon ourselves to test several connections from our location.  Speeds average from 1mbps up to 6mbps.  Not high speed, but enough to surf, & watch HD vidoes for several connected devices.

Q: I broke something, It doesn't work anymore!

A: Don't worry.  There's a reset button on the side of the router.  Hold it down for 10 seconds until you see a fast flashing LED.  Restart and It will reset back to the default settings.  You will loose all of your settings and the pre-installed list of VPNs'.  Contact us and we will send you a link to a zip file that has all the VPN settings.  It's kind of hard to break this little guy, you can always start from scratch with our help.

Q: What other settings do I need to change?

A: Nothing.  The only thing a basic end user will have to set up is connecting to a WiFi network.  We've configured all of the detailed settings for you.
